OUR DANCERS

Angela Lisa Fiorini is happy to be joining Ballet 5280. Angela is also a company member with Ballet Ariel as well as a ballet teacher at several studios and elementary schools in the surrounding Denver area. She spent the 2014-15 season co-founding Nashville Dance Initiative, a dancer directed professional ballet company. Angela danced two seasons with Dance Theatre of Tennessee in Nashville. Her most memorable roles there included Gretel in Hansel and Gretel and Danse des petits cygnes in Swan Lake. Angela received the Ruth De Young Kohler Scholarship for Arts Excellence and attended the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where she graduated in 2013 with a BFA in Classical Ballet and a Minor in Communication. While a student at CCM, Angela had the opportunity to perform professionally with DTT, Dayton Ballet, and Tevlin Ballet. In addition, she spent a season teaching on staff at the Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy. Originally from Wisconsin, Angela trained on full scholarship at the Milwaukee Ballet Academy after receiving the Schomer Lichtner Award. Her earliest training began with Pat Keller, Sue Darrow, and Jean Wolfmeyer. She has also trained with Atlanta Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.

Chelsea Cusack was born in New York, and moved to Colorado in 1996. She attended Denver School of the Arts, and graduated with honors. After graduation, she spent a year training at the Joffrey Ballet in New York City. Durning this time she also danced for Urban Ballet. She returned to Denver in 2009, and became a company member at Ballet Ariel for two seasons. Through that time she performed with Kim Robarts as well. She then ventured to Rochester, New York where she apprenticed for a season with the Rochester City Ballet. She then returned to Colorado rejoining Ballet Ariel in 2013. She is very excited to be a part of her first show with 5280!!

CHELSEA CUSACK

Aja started dancing in KC Missouri at the age of 6. After a family move to Denver she continued her training at Ballet Ariel. She has also attended summer intensive training programs at American Ballet Theater in Texas and North Carolina, as well as The Kirov Academy Of Ballet in Washington D.C. She spent one year as an apprentice with Ballet Ariel, followed by two seasons as a company dancer.
Aja is now working towards Pilates instructor certification and is teaching at Pilates of Cherry Creek.

AJA VELASQUEZ

Ariel Gilliam began her dance training when she was 8 years old at the school of Ballet Ariel. She has also studied at Avante-Garde School of Dance, the school of Ballet Nouveau Colorado (now Colorado Conservatory of Dance), Kim Robards Dance, and Classic Dance Academy. As a student, she performed lead roles in many classical ballets including the roles of Sugarplum Fairy, Dew Drop Fairy, Snow Queen, and Clara in the Nutcracker, Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, and the title role in Cinderella. Immediately after graduating high school in 2013, Ariel began a one year apprenticeship with Ballet Ariel’s professional company. She was promoted the next year and is currently in her fourth season with the company. She is very excited and thankful to be joining Ballet 5280.

ARIEL GILLIAM

JENNA CARARA

Jenna Carara is a professional ballerina from Parker, Colorado. She grew up at the Colorado School of Dance where she received a large portion of her training. Throughout her career, she has enjoyed her roles of Kitri in Don Quixote, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, and Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker. Her other dance training includes Ballet Austin, Ballet West, Classical Ballet of Colorado, the University of Utah, and Utah Ballet. Jenna feels so blessed to be a part of Ballet5280, with such talented and encouraging dancers!

SAMMI HARMON

Sammi began dancing at Aurora Dance Arts in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 3. She has not stopped since, and continued her training at International Ballet School in Littleton, Colorado, as well as summer intensives at The Jillana School, Boston Ballet, Ballet West, The Washington Ballet, and Colorado Ballet. In 2013, she went on to receive a BFA in Ballet at the University of Utah. She has danced with Colorado Ballet's Studio Company for two seasons, and spent one season with Ballet Ariel in Denver. She is currently pursing a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Sammi is excited to be a part of Ballet 5280's inaugural performance!

 

Jessica Mariner is originally from Chicago, IL. She began dancing at an early age and trained at Dmitri Roudnev School of Ballet, Salt Creek Ballet and at the Studio Company of Ballet Chicago. She then continued her education at the University of Utah, obtaining a B.F.A in Ballet Performance. While at the university, she danced with the performing company Utah Ballet. After graduation, she began her professional career dancing as an apprentice with Ballet Nebraska and then joined Missouri Ballet Theatre as a company artist performing corps de ballet and soloist roles in Nutcracker, Cinderella and new contemporary works. Jessica is currently a dancer with Ballet Ariel and is excited to join Ballet 5280.

JESSICA MARINER

Danielle Pite received her early training at Boulder Ballet with additional training at Ballet BC, LINES Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, Kansas City Ballet School and Briansky Ballet Center. She graduated with honors from Smith College and the Five College Dance Department with a B.A. in Dance and Chemistry. Danielle danced professionally with Missouri Ballet Theatre, Ballet Nebraska, Montgomery Ballet and Delusions of Grandeur Productions where she enjoyed performing in a variety of productions such as: Alice in Wonderland, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Blackbird, Sunday Sunday and The Little Mermaid. Danielle currently teaches ballet at Metropolitan Academy of Dance and enjoyed teaching at NV Dance Force, Nebraska City Dance Center, and Motion 41 Dance previously. Danielle is currently a student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the M.D. Program.

DANIELLE PITE

Becky Christnacht was born and raised in Denver, Colorado.  She began taking ballet at a young age. Through her childhood, Becky trained with The Academy of Classical Ballet.  She also participated in Colorado Ballet Guild, and attended summer intensives at both Colorado Ballet and Ballet Society of Colorado Springs.  Becky studied ballet with Stan and Sharon Rogers at Friends University.  While at Friends, she had the privilege of performing in featured roles such as demi soloist in Les Sylphides, and a soloist in several original works by Stan K. Rogers.  She was also a featured dancer in works by James Wallace, Melonie Buchanan Murray, Nick Blaylock and Felice Lesser.  In December of 2016, she graduated with her B.F.A. in Ballet.  She also holds a B.S. degree in Health Science and one day hopes to combine her love of dance and medicine to serve others.

BECKY CHRISTNACHT

Quinn Oliver began her ballet training at the Colorado Ballet Academy from ages three through eleven. Since then, Quinn has trained primarily under Jill Oliver at Insightful Motion/Thrive Ballet. She also studied with Janelle Cooke and Michelle Rodenbeck and attended summer intensives at Ballet Austin, Colorado Ballet, Thrive Ballet, Davis Contemporary Dance Company, and Denver Dance Center. With Thrive Youth Ballet Quinn performed Clara, the Snow Queen, and the Sugarplum Fairy in The Nutcracker, as well as soloist parts in many of Jill Oliver’s original works. Offstage she serves as Assistant to the Director of Thrive Ballet and works on all aspects of performance production. Quinn is a member of Davis Contemporary Dance Company’s pre-professional training program, Davis Dance Next Generation. In addition to dancing, Quinn is passionate about choreography and has created numerous solos and several group pieces. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to dance with Ballet5280.

QUINN OLIVER

Madison is a Denver, CO native. She trained at Mattie Springfields in Park Hill and continued there as it changed owners to the Dancers Advantage through high school. Madison went to Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, ABT Alabama, and The Dance Theatre of Tennessee(DTT) summer intensives before accepting a company position at DTT in 2011. She perfomed numerous roles with DTT in her 3 years with the company most notably first soloist in Cambodia by Jennifer Drake, Wade in the Water also by Jeniffer Drake, and Spanish and Clara in the Nutcracker. She has danced numerous corps de ballet roles in Swan Lake, Ecole De Ballet, Coppelia, Carmen, Giselle, Yebo, Paquita, Hansel and Gretel, and in the Nutcracker. Madison moved back to Denver in 2014 and started guesting lead roles with Park Hill Dance Academy and also joined the Park Hill Dance Collective(PHDC). With PHDC Madison had danced in Boundless by Karlyn Griswold, Interpersonal by Emily Hoch, All that Jazz re-staged by Emily Hoch, Set us Free by Karlyn Griswold, Forelsket by Lizzie Alcorn, and Spy Vs. Spy by Emily Hoch. Madison joined Ballet Ariel in 2015 and has danced many soloist and corps roles in Birth of Rock and Roll, Paquita, Cinderella, Les Sylphides, and Nutcracker. Her favorite roles with Ballet Ariel include Spanish and Arabian in Nutcracker, Demi Soloist in Les Sylphides, and Summer Fairy in Cinderella. Madison also joined Roots Dance Project in Atlanta for their 2016 Fringe Festival Performance of Seven Deadly Sins. Madison performed in Envy by Rachel Truitt, Sloth by Lisa Schmidt, and Devils Tattoo by Melissa Mitchell. Madison is also a ballet instructor at Park Hill Dance Academy. She is very excited to join Ballet 5280 for their company debut!
